James William Bice, age 68, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the Waters of Springfield.
Mr. Bice was born August 4, 1955 in Alameda, CA to the late Cecil and Annie Catherine Bond Bice.
He was an Electrical Engineer with Smith Seckman Reid Engineering. Mr. Bice was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, a member of the Coopertown Men’s Club, a 3rd degree Master Mason with Western Star Masonic Lodge #9, and an avid Alabama fan.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bice was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Steven Bice.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathryn Coleman Bice; sister, Tina (Tommy) Cutts; half-sister, Mildred Kirkland; sister-in-law, Charlene Bice; and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7 pm Friday, November 3rd in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with the Western Star Masonic Lodge #9 officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Following the visitation and Masonic service, Mr. Bice’s wishes were to be cremated.
