James Earl Lindsey, age 88 of White House passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at The Residence of Alive Hospice.

He was born July 11, 1935 in Nashville, TN to Edwin Earl and Velma Lee Johnson Lindsey.

He worked as a truck driver for USF Holland until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Mr. Lindsey enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and was considered to be a practical joker. He was a member of The Local #480 Trucker’s Union and was a member of the local Teamsters Union. He also played fast pitch softball and served as an umpire. He was a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debbie; sisters, Dorothy Mae and Dorothy; brothers, Oscar, Tommy, Homer and Bill.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Lindsey; son, Mark Todd (Stacey) Lindsey; daughter, Kim Willard, all of White House, TN; brother, Rudy (Faye) Lindsey, Gallatin, TN; 6 grandchildren, Sheila, Timmy, Corey, Lindsey, Trent and Hayley; 11 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kristen, Brianna, Danielle, Maddy, Rowen, Reagan, Kendall, Olivia, Sophie and Chenoa; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 12 pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Allen Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with military honors and with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitations is planned for Wednesday, March 13, 2024 5-9 PM and Thursday, March 14, 2024 10 AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
