Franklin Wayne Knight, age 66, of Springfield, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at his home.
Mr. Knight was born in Cedar Hill to the late Frank and Elma Whitaker Knight.
He worked as a stamp operator at Tsubaki in Portland and attended Grace Free Will Baptist Church. He loved to fish, he loved watching football and loved working on old cars.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Knight is preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Knight and Bill Knight.
Mr. Knight is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Charles Harney of Springfield and Star and Ken Phillips of Cedar Hill; and his nephew, Stephen Rigsby. Mr. Rigsby is also survived by a host of friends and loving companions that will dearly miss him.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 at 2 pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Doug Spain officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Offutt, Glenn Jackson, Ricky Sparks, Randy Searcy, Stephen Rigsby and Charles Harney serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10 am until the hour of service at 2 pm.
