She was born November 19, 1943, in Ferndale, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents Felix E. Durham and Mary Frances Loomer Durham, her husband of 36 years, Joe Mac Lipscomb Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Suszanne (Bart) Williams, Greenville, SC; daughter, Kerri (Michael) Gregory, Springfield, TN; grandchildren, Amy Kathryn, Davis, and Colin Williams; Ryan, Olivia, and Mac Gregory; brother, Fred (Paula) Durham, Nashville, TN.

She was a 1961 graduate of Isaac Litton High School and graduated from Tennessee Tech in 1965. Her passion and love for teaching exceeded 20 years in the Robertson County School system. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church for over 54 years and a member of the Dr. Tom Onstott Sunday School Class.

Through the years, she served on various committees of her church. She was a longtime supporter of Springfield High School Athletics and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on Yellow Jacket football. She believed that giving back to the community was a part of one’s mission to serve others. Frances was a Federation Board member of the Glenn Memorial Women’s Clubs. She held many offices for the Federation, as well as many roles on the Christmas Sampler Board. In addition, she served as a Trustee for the Glenn Memorial Women’s Club. She was active in Wednesday Study Club, Century Club, RCCW, and Charlotte Reeves Robertson Chapter DAR. In addition, she served on the Robertson County Historical Society Board of Directors and Robertson County Fair Board.

“Mimi” loved her grandchildren and supported their activities near and far. She was a wonderful caregiver to her husband, loving mother, travel companion with friends to the beach and through the world, and always strong, never worrying what tomorrow would bring, for only God knows.

If so desired, the family requests memorial contributions to the Springfield High School football or wrestling programs, the Christ Church Episcopal School lacrosse or football programs in Greenville, SC, or Robertson County Historical Society. All donations may be sent in care of Robertson County Funeral Home.
