Evangeline Ellis “Girlie” Clinard, 86, of the Heads Church community in Cedar Hill, passed from this life on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 13th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Billy Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Heads Church Cemetery with Jason Ellis, Jeff Ellis, Rob Ellis, Jamie Ellis, Greg Balthrop, and Rodney Balthrop serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Clinard was born March 26, 1935, in Cedar Hill to the late Robert and Alice Gower Ellis. She was a retired sewing technician with Wilson Sporting Goods. She was a member of Heads Free Will Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years and participated in the church Women’s Auxiliary. Mrs. Clinard loved sewing, quilting, and was a wonderful cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Dye Clinard, and by her siblings: Don Ellis and Esterlene Barnett. Mrs. Clinard is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Andrew and Melissa Clinard of Cedar Hill, by her brothers: Robert Bell Ellis of Springfield, Joe Bailey Ellis, and Welbur Ellis both of Pleasant View, and Jewel Ellis of Texas, and by her sisters: Marjorie June Crutcher of Springfield, Dimple Balthrop of Cedar Hill, and Bonnie Balthrop of Chapmansboro.
