Avey “Elizabeth” Smith, age 79 of Springfield, TN passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Mercy Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.
Funeral services will be at 12 pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Springfield. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 and 10 am until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born in Springfield, TN on October 8, 1941 to the late John Henry and Tiny Frey Biggs and was also preceded in death by brothers, J.B. Biggs, Charles Biggs, and sister, Shirley Grant.
She loved her family very much and enjoyed flowers.
She is survived by sons, Joseph L. (Judy) Smith, Jr. of Adams, TN, James Ray Smith of Springfield, TN; brother, Billy Joe Biggs of Pleasant View, TN; sister, Tinnie Mendenhall of Cedar Hill; grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Wilson, Amber Noel Smith, and Jalynn Smith.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
