Edwin Angelo Anthony Jr., age 79, of Adams, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Anthony was born November 18, 1944 in Robertson County to the late Edwin A. and Opal Wetton Anthony Sr.
He was a farmer all of his life and a member of the Adams Fisherman’s Club, and Adams United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tasha Morris.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Anita Anthony; daughters, Connie Lynn (Mike) Hanson, Patricia Leann (Steve) Tanner, and Elizabeth Sue Anthony; stepsons, Bobby Morris, James David Morris, and Danny Morris; stepdaughter, Brenda (Mark) Miller; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy (Gloria) Anthony, and John Paul (Susan) Anthony; and sisters, Patsy Ann Morris, and Elizabeth Jean Lawrence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Monday, December 18th, in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Isaac Bourne and Bro. Billy Vogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery with John Paul Anthony Jr., Evan Anderson, Austin Anderson, Jason Baggett, Mark Bourne, and Erol Rockey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Winters, Mike Callis, Bob Arms Sr., and Bill Holt.
The family will receive friends from 10 am until time of the service at 2 pm Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Anthony’s honor to the Adams Fisherman’s Club.
