Douglas Wayne Pirtle, age 68 of White House went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Hendersonville Medical Center.

He was born December 27, 1952 in Nashville, TN to George Agron & Annie Mae Moss Pirtle.

Doug was a man who wore many hats. Some of the jobs that he had over the years included Capital News as a salesman, Rabold & Hoover Brokerage, the owner/operator of DJ’s Lawn and Garden, manager of Foodtown (which later became Al’s Food Valu), owner/operator of Doug’s BP and finally, his proudest endeavor was being the owner/operator of Pirtle Construction Company. Doug proudly supported his community, and surrounding communities, his neighbors, and friends. He enjoyed fishing, home building, and eating at De La Paz.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Pirtle, Jr. & Tommy Pirtle; one sister, Linda Hendrixson.

He is survived by his loving high school sweetheart and wife of 49 years, Jennell Cowan Pirtle; son, Bryan (Dianna) Pirtle, both of Springfield, TN; daughter, Amy (Chad) Harrison, Cottontown, TN; sisters, Sherron (David) Bruce, Hendersonville, TN and Sandra (Carl) Willis, Goodlettsville, TN; sister-in-law, Wendy Pirtle, Smyrna, TN; five grandchildren, Brianna (Matthew) Sigmund, Blaine-Austin Pirtle, Kylie Pirtle, Jon-Michael Harrison, and Ryleigh Harrison; several nieces and nephews and his beloved Golden Doodle, Garth.

Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2 pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Bob Cook officiating. Interment will follow in White House Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family is planned for Monday, October 18, 2021 4-8 PM, and Tuesday, October 19, 2021 10 AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
