Dorothy Jane ‘Dot’ Woodard, age 88 of Springfield, Tennessee passed from this life on Friday, March 4, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield.

Mrs. Dot was born April 20, 1933 to the late Tom Key and the late Mabel Garrison Key Bradley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert “Bob” Woodard; brother, Bobby Key; and niece, Libby Spicer.

She is survived by a niece, Sherry Keene and husband Jim of Newman, GA; nephew, Winn Woodard and wife Kathy of Springfield; great-nieces, Krista Massey and husband Chad of Newman, GA, Beth Woodard of Nashville, and Nan Moore and husband Miller of Knoxville; great-nephews, Phil Spicer and wife Annie of Springfield and Jason Woodard of Nashville; nephew-in-law, Phillip Spicer of Nashville; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Woodard was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and also attended Central Christian Church. She graduated from MTSU in 1956 with a degree in Home Economics. This degree served her well, as she was known for her many talents including cooking, sewing, needlework, painting, and playing the organ. She served as UT Agriculture Extension Agent for Dickson and Robertson Counties. In addition, she was a recipe taster for Martha White Flour Company, consultant for Tupperware, and partner in a catering business.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in Elmwood Cemetery with Bro. Martin Babb officiating. Burial will follow with Jason Woodard, Beth Woodard, Phil Spicer, Phillip Spicer, Chad Massey, and Winn Woodard serving as pallbearers. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.

The family would also like to extend their thanks to NHC Healthcare in Springfield for their love and care of Aunt Dot.
