Donald Richard “Don” Williams, 72, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at his home.

Don was born May 29, 1950, in Lafayette, to the late Richard Macon and Versie Mai McDonald Williams.

He was a graduate of Macon County High School Class of 1968. He then attended Cumberland University and went on to graduate from MTSU, where he was a member of the golf team.

Don was a retired Vice President and manager from F&M Bank in Springfield, a member of Springfield Baptist Church, a member of the New Chapel Men’s Club, and served on the Board of Directors of the Majestic Sun Condo’s in Destin, FL.

He loved playing golf, fishing, going to the beach and the lake, and was an avid Predator’s, Titan’s, and Vanderbilt Commodore’s fan. Don loved playing cards, especially Bridge. He always played to win, and was very competitive, but was a good sportsman no matter what the outcome of the game he was playing was.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Jack Williams. Don is survived by his wife: Pam Phillips Williams of Springfield, by his daughter: Amber Clark Williams of Hermitage, by his stepdaughter: Maurisa Richardson and husband Corey of Coopertown, and by his granddaughters: Leslie and Sarah Richardson.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 25th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. David Evans and Martin Babb officiating.

Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jeff Walker, Calvin Cothron, Ronnie Hollingsworth, Eddie Sanders, Butch Jones, Ted Stubblefield, Mike Nadler, and Jimmy McKee serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present employees of F&M Bank, the members of Tom Onstott Sunday School Class, Don Sloan, Tom Onstott, Donnie Edwards, Don Hix, Denny Choate, Rick Corbitt, Jerry West, Rusty Fox, Mike Ramsey, and Roger Holman.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
