David Earl Collins, age 86 of White House passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at his home. He was born April 10, 1939 in Danbury, CT to Earl David & Margaret Florence Shanley Collins.
David proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville. When he was younger, he enjoyed coaching basketball and baseball. He loved attending activities with his grandchildren.
David owned Collins Barbershop in Danbury CT for over 25 years. Then, he owned Collins Barbershop in Conway, SC for several more years before retiring in Myrtle Beach, SC.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Darlene Collins, White House, TN; sons, David (Sherrill) Collins, Jr., Ivoryton, CT and Michael Collins, Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Maureene (Jeffrey) McGuire, White House, TN; 3 grandchildren, Taylor McGuire, Kristen (John) Rogers and Caleigh (Andrew) Grasso.
A memorial service is being planned, at a later date, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Connecticut. His ashes will be inurned at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Danbury, CT.
