Darthy ‘Dottie’ Bell Collier, age 82 of Cross Plains, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at her home.
She was born February 17, 1941 in Orlinda, TN to Edward Morgan and Carrie Bell Dixon Graves.
She was the owner of The Smoke House Restaurant in the 1970’s and later owned and operated Dottie’s Fine Foods for 20 years. She was a member of The Church at Grace Park.
After retirement, she became a caregiver to many, enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Harold Graves and Landon Graves; great-granddaughter, Alexis Dawn.
She is survived by her son, Frankie Allan (Joanna) Mefford, Boston, MA; daughters, Deborah Ann Parsons, Cross Plains, TN, Linda Darleen (Jesse) Parker, Shirley, IN, Virginia Caralee Mefford, White House, TN, Regina Cathilynn Tuttle, Russellville, KY and Christi Shealee (Glen) Eller, Portland, TN; brothers, David (Sonja) Graves, Lloyd (Sandy) Graves, both of Indianapolis, IN and Ricky (Risa) Graves, Nashville, IN; sisters, Hazel Howard and Bertha (Gerald) Russell, both of Indianapolis, IN; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11 am in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Pastor Bob Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Gareth Eller, Jason Ebert, Jeremy Ebert, Dustain Kelly, Robie Graves and Ricky Marr serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family is planned for Friday, September 29, 2023 4-8 PM and Saturday, September 30, 2023 9 AM-11 AM at the funeral home.
