Claude-Maurice-Burton

Claude Maurice Burton, age 76 of Greenbrier, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at his home.

Mr. Burton was born August 14, 1947 in Nashville to the late J.T. and Monique Isnard Burton.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was retired from Alladin in Hendersonville. He loved his church family and his earthly family as well, especially spending time with his wife and grandson. He enjoyed riding his 1989 Honda Goldwing Motorcycle that was in perfect condition and also spending time helping at Loaves and Fishes Meals for the Hungry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Terry Ashburn; his uncle whom he was named after, Claude Isnard; and nephew, Sid Ashburn.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Pam Burton of Greenbrier; nephew and wife who were like his children, Joe and Christy Ashburn of Westmoreland; and grandson, Axl Ashburn of Westmoreland.

Mr. Claude’s favorite poem was:
“Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.”

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. His cremains will be buried in St. Michael’s Church Cemetery.

The family requests, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to Loaves and Fishes Community Meals for the Hungry, c/o Holy Name Catholic Church 508 Main Street Nashville, TN 37206.

Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of the cremation. https://www.robertsoncountyfuneralhome.com
