Carol Jean Norris, age 72, of Cedar Hill, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Mrs. Norris was born February 18, 1951, in Nashville, to the late Roy Bryant and Ruby May Cohea.
She worked in food service most of her life and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ray Norris; son, Joe Goodfred; and stepsons, Jeffrey Norris, and Ronald Norris.
She is survived by her son, Jeremiah Norris; daughters, Angela McWorter, Precious Norris, Breanna Norris, and Joyce Norris; special children given to them by God, Michael Staton and Adysyn Searcy; and sisters, Terry (Sam) Lawson, Deborah (Marshall) Baker, and Tina (Bo) Staton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 26th in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Leonard Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jeremiah Norris, Sam Lawson, Stephen Searcy, Ryan Harrell, Michael Staton, and Tyresh Carter serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Friday, and again from 11 am until time of the service at 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
