Carol Peeples Cook, age 84, of Springfield, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
A private funeral service will be held with burial in the Harper Hills Cemetery.
Ms. Cook was born June 10, 1937 in South Fulton, TN to the late Clayburn and Margaret Buchanan Peeples. She worked for the TN Dept of Transportation, was a past board member of the Department, and was a former Commissioner of Transportation.
Ms. Cook is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Joan Cook, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Mark Kimbrough; brothers and sister-in-law, Clayburn Peeples, Jr. and David and Alice Ann Peeples; sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy and Joe Johnson, Nancy Lester and Jane Litchfield; grandchildren, Keith Cook, Jr., Logan (Joanna) Kimbrough and Jane Clair Kimbrough; and great-grandchildren, Stella Ruby Cook, Georgia Carol Cook, and Audrey Kay Kimbrough.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the On The Go Ministries in Ms. Cook’s memory. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.
