It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Odis Jones, who departed this life on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born on February 2, 1945, in Springfield, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Manuel “Bill” Jones and Lois Allen Wilson Jones.

He was a member of Coopertown High School’s last graduating class in 1964. A proud veteran, Carl served his country in the United States Army, a testament to his commitment and sense of duty. After his military service, he became a life insurance agent, a profession he genuinely loved and poured his heart into throughout his career. His work was not just a job; it was a passion that allowed him to engage with countless individuals, and he cherished every moment spent helping others.

Described as a jokester, Carl had an infectious spirit that made him a beloved figure among friends and family. He brought laughter and warmth wherever he went. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church.

Carl had a variety of interests that enriched his life. He loved to golf and could often be found singing karaoke, delighting audiences with his voice and charisma. His hobbies reflected his zest for life and his desire to connect with others through shared experiences.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Julia Ann Jones; daughter Kimberly Ann Doss; and siblings Bobby Jones, Johnny Ray Jones, J.W. Jones, and Lois Dean Plesiewicz.

Carl leaves behind his cherished sons, Carl Patterson Jones, Clay (Amanda) Jones, and David (Bethany) Jones; his brother, Thomas Wayne Jones; sisters, Judy Dowlen and Wanda Jones, who held a special place in his heart; and son-in-law Ira Doss. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 11, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM. The family will welcome friends and visitors on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM service time. Interment will take place in Springfield Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Clay Jones, David Jones, Dylen Jones, Johnny Jones, Steven Jones, and Ira Doss. https://www.springfieldfh.com
