Betty Gray Binkley

Betty Gray Binkley, age 82 of Greenbrier passed away at Jubille Hills in Goodlettsville on Friday, November 26, 2021.

She was born on August 23, 1939 to the late William E. and Lillie Gray in Laguardo, Tennessee. She graduated with a teaching certificate from Belmont University and began a career teaching Kindergarten. She taught for many years and eventually retired to help her husband Emery run the family business, but to this day her students from many years ago still talk about the influence she had on them at an early age. Mrs. Binkley continued to teach children as she taught Sunday school for many years and enjoyed reading her Bible and growing in her daily walk with Jesus.

Mrs. Binkley enjoyed traveling with her husband. They traveled to places like Europe, Japan, the Panama Canal, Florida Keys, Destin, and to all 50 states. When they weren’t traveling around the world, Mrs. Binkley enjoyed tending to her roses, mum, hydrangeas, and other flowers in her yard. She could tell you every name of the flowers she tended to. Just as she took pride in her garden, Mrs. Binkley loved caring for her ever growing family. She cherished spending time with her entire family. Nana was truly a gift to all that knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Binkley was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Binkley Robertson and siblings, Sam Gray, Bud Gray and Clarie Gray.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Emery Binkley; son, Rick (Stephanie) Binkley; grandchildren, Kyle (Jessica) Binkley and Cara (Chris) Brake; great-grandchildren, Emery Jean Binkley, and Jack Binkley; sisters, Jo Ann Perdue and Carolyn West and a host of nieces and nephews.
