Annie Catherine Newberry, age 78, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 1 pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home on Springfield. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 am until the hour of service at 1 pm.
Mrs. Newberry was born August 3, 1943 in Springfield to the late Edward “Mutt” and Ada Belle Dixon Gregory. She worked at the “hosiery mill” and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Newberry is preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Morris, Patsy Hester, Barbara Rushing, and Bonnie Caldwell, her brother, Robert Gregory, and her nephew, Jerry “Buster” Morris.
Mrs. Newberry is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dewey R. Newberry; nephew, Jeff Morris; great-niece and great-nephews, Ashley and Josh Henderson, Dusty Morris and Ben and Candy Armistead; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Eli Henderson, Easton Henderson, Addie Armistead, and Kaylee Morris.
