Gretchen’s sister Alex Walsh is also competing in the Paris Olympics. This will be her second Olympics appearance. She qualified for the 200m Individual Medley after winning a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Walsh sisters have strong Nashville ties. They are Harpeth Hall alums and before they swam for Team USA, they competed on the all-girls school’s swimming team, reports WPLN. At 13 years old, Walsh became the youngest swimmer to compete in the Olympic trials.
