One person is dead following a barricade situation in Portland on the night of June 10, 2023.
Officers responded to a shooting call on Saturday night around 9 p.m. in the Meadows Lane area where they located two victims suffering gunshot wounds, according to WKRN. However, the suspect was not at the scene.
The suspect, who was later identified as 42-year-old Jonathan N. Shrum of Westmoreland, allegedly shot the two victims following an argument, WKRN reports.
Police later located Shrum at a home in which he had barricaded himself inside.
Emergency Response Team was called to negotiate with the suspect to help take them into custody. Unfortunately, the suspect died from a self-inflicting wound.
The investigation is still underway.
