A man has been charged after authorities say he crashed into a Sumner County Sheriff’s Office patrol car while under the influence on February 10, according to WSMV.

Caine Anderson, 48, was charged with DUI and vehicle assault, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Reports from THP say Anderson fell asleep while he was driving a Hyundai Elantra on Highway 76. Officials say he then crossed doubled yellow lines and crashed into the squad car.

The driver and passenger inside the squad car were both in the crash, THP said.

Anderson has been booked into Sumner County Jail.
