Nashville General Hospital (NGH), Middle Tennessee’s essential public hospital serving Nashville and Davidson County, announced that it will offer low- and no-cost mammograms during the month of October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Mammogram Day (October 18th.)
NGH offers no-cost mammograms to all Metro Nashville and Nashville Electric Service employees as well as Tennessee State employees as part of the Nashville Healthcare Incentive Program. Currently only available at NGH Imaging, the incentive program is year-long for all Metro, NES, and State employees and dependents who participate in their respective health plans.
During the month of October, NGH will offer a self-pay option of $75, and those uninsured residents of Davidson County are encouraged to call for available no-cost options at both NGH Imaging and the new Nashville Healthcare Diagnostic Imaging location in Bordeaux. Both imaging centers will offer extended hours on Mondays (7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.) and Thursdays (4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.) to accommodate walk-ins and scheduled screening mammograms.
“Nashville General Hospital is committed to increasing access and affordability to mammograms for our community,” said Dr. Joseph Webb, chief executive officer. “Early detection of breast cancer is key, and together, we can save lives and make a meaningful difference in the fight against breast cancer.”
