Keep Springfield Beautiful by Adopting A Street

86

Take an active role to keep your city clean. This volunteer program provides a partnership between the City of Springfield and individuals, community groups, business owners, schools, churches, and service clubs to promote community services in an effort to make city streets litter-free.

Turn your favorite street into a street of dreams by participating in the Springfield Adopt-A-Street Program. This program is a great way to give to the community while enjoying the benefits of a cleaner street. The litter along our streets is not only an eyesore but it is also washed into streams when it rains so keeping our streets clean is a step toward healthy streams.

The Springfield Public Works Department provides safety guidelines, volunteer liability release forms, bags, gloves, safety vests. The debris that is collected will be removed by city crews. A brief cleanup report must be completed following the cleanup and recognition signage will then be installed near the adopted roadway.

Adopting a street is free, but you must conduct a cleanup at least four times throughout the year, specifically one during each season. The agreement is valid for one year and can be renewed annually.
