Time to start making plans for the holidays. Here are some holiday events taking place in Robertson County that feature everything from shopping handmade crafts to a parade to trying healthy foods from Cedar Hill Apothecary. Plus, there will be lots of music, fun and beverages to get the season started right. And at some, you might just see Santa!

Booths featuring local boutiques and crafts people, as well as food trucks, will be set up around the square and extend onto Locust Street. Food trucks in the past have included Southern food, barbecue, burgers, sandwiches, and bakery items. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the courthouse until 3:00 p.m. This year’s theme for Christmas on the Square is “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas.”

J. Travis Price Park will once again be home to thousands of lights and more than a dozen holiday scenes as Winter Wonderland returns for its 23rd year. The tradition continues with drive through and walkable experiences as well as family-friendly activities.

Drive-thru dates: Saturday, December 2 – Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Walking dates: December 2, 9, 16, 23.

Time: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Location: J. Travis Price Park, 4155 Wilks Road

Fee: Free admission.

Activity Nights: December 2, 9, 16, 23.

Every Saturday, visitors will be able to follow the candy cane trail, visit with Santa, warm up by the fire pits, and enjoy free family-friendly activities. This year’s free activities will include:

December 2 (Opening Night): Tree lighting ceremony and holiday shopping from a variety of vendors.
December 9: Youth pony rides.
December 16: Youth holiday crafts.
December 23: Petting zoo.
Food will be available for purchase during the activity nights from a variety of food vendors including Whitt’s BBQ, Delish Dogs, and Maria’s Snack Shack.

3Holiday 5K and 10K Run

The Holiday 5K/10K and Kids Fun Run 1K is more than a race, it’s a can’t-miss Christmas celebration. Coordinated by the Robertson County Family YMCA, this very merry race takes runners around historic parts of the city. It’s a great way to start the Holiday Season! Packet pick-up begins on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Historic Perk, and race day morning begins at 7:00 a.m. Awards will take place 30 minutes after the last eligible winner crosses the finish line. First, second and third awards will be given by age and sex. Awards will be given based on chip time. The event will take place rain or shine.

Proceeds from the event benefit the YMCA of Middle Tennessee. As a leading nonprofit committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of children and teens, improves community health and well-being and supports people in need right in our own neighborhood.

Join them Friday or Saturday for end of a weekend long Christmas celebration! They will be doing a tour through the store, walking visitors through all the products they carry so shoppers can learn more about what they offer and be sure to pick the perfect unique gift for loved ones. Kiddos will be able to make Santa ornaments out of dried okra.

“We will have festive herbal potions available all weekend like spiced cranberry cider fizz and our famous mushroom hot chocolate available with old fashioned herbal marshmallows,” says the website.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Robertson County History Museum will be hosting the Second Annual Breakfast with Santa. Guests will enjoy a pancake breakfast, photos with Santa, crafts, live music and storytelling from Santa and Ms. Claus.
