The Robertson County Fair has begun, taking place September 19 through 23, 2023.
Did you know the very first county fair was held in Springfield, Tennessee? It took place not long after the end of the Civil War. It was one of the first in the state and would draw people from other states. For 156 years, it has been a fun event that families look forward to attending every year. It celebrates the best the community has to offer in livestock, fine craftsmanship, food and entertainment.
Because Robertson County has long been an agricultural county, and most of the workforce has been in agriculture or farm-related businesses, the fair has been a focal point of the community.
While there have been many locations used for the fair, the Robertson County Fair has been at the same location on Highway 41 since 1948.
What to Expect This Year
Every year the fair has grown, and this year is no exception. There will be arts and crafts events, cooking events, barn events, a baby photo contest, a talent show, a parade, a demolition derby, go kart racing, monster trucks, a car show, lots of music and a praise and worship night.
There will be a farm dinner to kick off the fair on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m., but the fair begins on Thursday with a parade at 5:00 p.m. Crooked Eye Tommy will play on the Acoustic Stage, and the Meg Williams Band will play on the Century Stage at 6:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., there will be barrel racing in the arena.
Other entertainment includes Amber Watts on Wednesday night; Cliff Waddell and Danny Garwood on Thursday night; Cameron Barton and A Few Miles on Friday night; Matt Dominick and Morgan Mills on Saturday night. Go Kart Racing, Jump and Run Racing, Monster Trucks, and a Demolition Derby will occur in the arena; one event each night.
Praise and Worship Night will take place on Wednesday night. Four-H will sponsor the talent competition that will take place on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and the Barn Dance with music by the Starlighters will take place on Saturday night. Livestock showings and competitions will run during the entire event.

Hours & Ticket Info:
Gates open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m.
Tickets are $15.00 for these three days and include carnival rides. There is free admission if you bring a donation to Isaiah 117 House, plus an additional fee for rides.
On Friday and Saturday, tickets are $12.00 for adults and $4.00 per kids, but carnival rides are not included. The gates open at 5:00 p.m. on Friday night and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. A $20.00 armband special for rides is being offered from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night only. Some rides may require additional tickets.
