White House to Host Annual Independence Day 5K

White House is gearing up to celebrate Independence Day with a festive and family-friendly event—the annual Independence Day 5K. Open to runners and walkers of all levels, the race will take place the morning of July 4 and is designed to get the community moving in a spirited start to the holiday.

Online registration runs from May 4 through June 25. Early bird pricing is available until May 25, with individual entries starting at$25, youth 10 and under at $20, and family packages (up to four participants) at $70. After May 25, prices increase by $5 in each category.

Early bird registrants are guaranteed a limited-edition Collector’s Shirt. Awards include cash prizes for the overall top male and female finishers, as well as masters winners (age 40+). Age group awards will be given in 5-year increments starting at age 11 through age 75, along with a special division for participants 10 and under.

Race day check-in and late registration begins at 7:00 a.m., with the race starting at 8:00 a.m. and awards presented at 9:15 a.m. Parking will be available at White House High School, 508 Tyree Springs Road. The course will begin and end near the high school trailhead, following the Greenway past the Veterans Memorial Trailhead and looping back.

Whether you’re racing for a medal or just enjoying a holiday walk, the Independence Day 5K is a great way to kick off the Fourth of July.
