Springfield Tourism and Main Street Coordinator Madie McCormick was named Destination Marketing Organization Manager of the Year in the small-budget category by the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association.
McCormick received the award Sept. 17 during the Stars of the Industry Awards at the Gatlinburg Convention Center as part of the 2026 Governor’s Conference on Hospitality & Tourism.
The award recognizes a Tennessee tourism marketing organization with an annual budget of less than $500,000 that demonstrates outstanding service, professionalism, creativity and lasting impact on the state’s hospitality and tourism industry.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive this award,” McCormick said. “I am proud to represent the City of Springfield and grateful to be part of a community that believes in the impact of tourism.”
McCormick said the recognition reflects the work and support of local businesses, community partners and city leadership. She also said she looks forward to continuing to tell Springfield’s story and showcase the community.
Tennessee’s tourism economy has continued to grow, with visitor spending increasing 40% since 2018, compared with 22% nationally. In 2025, visitors generated a record $32.5 billion in direct spending.
Springfield welcomed visitors from 29 states during the year, contributing to an estimated $239 in tax savings per household through state and local tax collections.
The City of Springfield has been a TNHTA member for three years, since the city’s tourism department was established.
Real Springfield, TN serves as the city’s official visitor information hub and leads the Main Street program, supporting the growth and preservation of historic downtown.
