Springfield Police Chief Jason Head was elected to serve as the 2nd Vice President of the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP). The organization brings together law enforcement executives to share information and ideas, promote cooperation among law enforcement agencies, consult on legislation, and offer advanced training, among other initiatives.

“It’s a privilege to be elected 2nd Vice President of TACP,” said Chief Head. “I’m honored to continue working with this great group of leaders dedicated to advancing public safety in Tennessee.”

Chief Head will be officially sworn in as 2nd Vice President of TACP in August and will serve a one-year term in this role. Chief Head has been an active member of the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police for over seven years. He has been an employee with the Springfield Police Department for 19 years and has served as chief of police for seven years.

Chief Head has also been appointed by Governor Bill Lee to serve on the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) Board of Trustees as a representative of Public Safety. The appointment is effective through June 2028.

The TCRS Board of Trustees is responsible for the general administration and operation of TCRS and consists of 20 members. TCRS provides retirement, disability, and death benefits to state employees, public school teachers, and higher education employees.
