The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam involving individuals impersonating deputies.
These scammers are contacting victims, claiming there is a warrant out for their arrest due to missed court appearances. They then instruct victims to pay a bond by purchasing gift cards through Coinstar.
Authorities emphasize that this is a scam. The Sheriff’s Office does not call individuals to demand money for arrest warrants or missed jury duty.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal or financial information over the phone. If you receive such a call, hang up immediately and report it to local law enforcement.
