A local effort is giving residents a safe and simple way to dispose of unused or expired medications later this month.
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot at 903 Memorial Boulevard in Springfield.
Officials say the event allows community members to drop off prescription medications for proper disposal at no cost and with no questions asked.
The initiative is aimed at helping prevent medication misuse while also protecting the environment through safe disposal practices. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to clean out old or unused medications from their homes.
