Virginia Lee Fulton (née Fiscus), lovingly known as “Jenny,” passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, in Clarksville, Tennessee, at the age of 92. She was born on October 17, 1933, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Cleadus and Lilly Fiscus. Jenny lived a remarkable life marked by dedication to education, devotion to family, and service to her community.

Jenny graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1951 and remained closely connected with her classmates throughout the years, faithfully attending reunions and regular luncheons at Mariah’s. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University.

Jenny devoted nearly 50 years of her life to teaching, touching the lives of countless students in Glasgow, Kentucky; Germany; Japan; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Maryland; Alvaton, Kentucky; and Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was known as a demanding yet deeply compassionate educator whose greatest joy came from the success of her students. In her own words, “Her happiness and reward for teaching came from the students’ achievements, support of the staff, parents’ appreciation for her dedication, and the hugs and thanks received after retirement.”

While teaching in Germany, Jenny met Robert Fulton. The couple married there in 1964 and built a life filled with travel and adventure through Robert’s military career. Together they raised two children, Cindy and Craig, while creating cherished memories around the world.

Jenny was an active member of numerous organizations, including the National Education Association, Kentucky Education Association, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, Warren County Retired Teachers Association, Two Creeks Garden Club, and Sheriffs’ Boys & Girls Ranch. She attended Martha’s Chapel General Baptist Church in Alvaton, Kentucky, and also worshiped at special services at Camp Garner Creek in Dickson, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleadus and Lilly Fiscus, and by her husband, Robert Fulton.

Jenny is survived by her sister, Anna Mae West; her daughter, Cynthia Church (Thad); her son, William Fulton; her nephew, DeWayne Gee (Jennifer); and six cherished grandchildren.

Jenny will be remembered for her strong spirit, unwavering commitment to education, and the love she shared with her family, students, and friends throughout her long and meaningful life.
