Shannon Renee Underwood, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away on April 5, 2024, at her home in Orlinda, Tennessee.

She was born on June 15, 1976, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Shannon dedicated her life to serving others with a spirit of excellence at Northridge Church. Her compassionate nature and unwavering desire to help those in need left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Shannon’s warm heart touched the lives of everyone she encountered; she had a special gift for making people feel valued and loved; she wanted to always love others like Jesus.

Outside of her commitment to service, Shannon found joy in simple pleasures such as spending time at the beach. Her love for the ocean was evident to all who knew her; it brought her a sense of peace and contentment that she cherished deeply.

Shannon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered forever.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Pete and Brenda Frye.

She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Alan Underwood; her sons, Seth Underwood and Bubba Underwood (Tayler); her adored grandson, Sorin Underwood; her brothers, Michael Frye (Carlette) and Gary Frye (Debbie); as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation to honor Shannon’s life will take place on April 13, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Northridge Church in White House, Tennessee Pastor Derek Capello officiating. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Shannon’s favorite Mexico mission, Me+Mexico/TFC(The Church Family). Please text TFCGIVE to 77977 and fill out the form to make your donation.
