Ronald P. “Ron” Ebright, 88, of Springfield, Tennessee, formerly of Marysville, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 18, 2026, at Bluebird Retirement Community with his devoted family by his side.
One of four children, Ron was born November 14, 1937, in Watkins, Ohio, to the late Pride S. and Fern (Murphy) Ebright. A 1955 graduate of Marysville High School, he spent his entire working career as an adhesive glue salesman for Beaver Adhesive in Hilliard, before being relocated to Springfield, Tennessee. After his honorable discharge from the United States Airforce in 1962, Ron met a beautiful young lady by the name of Marion Bernard, and they married on July 21, 1964. They shared 31 wonderful years of love and family before she preceded him in passing on November 28, 1995.
Before relocating to Tennessee, Ron was a very active member in the Union County community and spent time on the Mill Creek Township zoning board. He continuously worked with Union County Fair activities, from being on the Fair Board, to the Livestock Committee and Horse Racing Committee. A strong athlete, he was active in baseball, softball, and basketball during and after his high school years, and he loved to go kart race at the old Marysville Go Kart track. A very faithful servant, he was heavily involved with Gideon’s International and Springfield First United Methodist Church.
Compassionate, ornery and full of humor, Ron was simply the warm fire everyone loved to huddle around. He never knew a stranger, and his easy temperament was a balm that made others feel at ease. He was a deeply spiritual man, shepherding people to the Lord in the way he lived his life and his inspiring and gentle words. Farming and caring for his sheep were always Ron’s passion, which will be carried on by his grandchildren at his old homestead on Long Rd in Watkins. He loved the lazy summer visits with his grandchildren when they would come down to Tennessee, eating at Larry’s for breakfast every morning. He never missed a sporting event, even if it meant watching online when he couldn’t travel. His love and support for his grandkids grew even stronger with the arrival of his great-granddaughter, Layla – he was wrapped around her little finger, and she was his sunshine.
Ron is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Elisa & Brent Ufferman of Marysville; much loved grandchildren Becka Ufferman, Nick Ufferman, Noel (Adam) Blumenschein, Tanner Ufferman and Tyler Ufferman; the light of his life, his great granddaughter, Layla; his second wife of 29 years, Jackie (Gray) Ebright of Dalton, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Along with his parents, and his wife, Marion, Ron was also preceded in death by his son, George Ebright; and siblings, John Lee Ebright, Don Ebright, and Linda Sparks.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1pm-3pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, Ohio. Burial will be held at a future date next to his first wife, Marion, in Mill Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gideon’s International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN, 37214, or to the Ronald P. Ebright Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home.
