Robert Edward Hawkins, age 73 of White House, Tennessee passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at his home.
He was born December 2, 1949 in Nashville, TN to Robert Hunter & Frances Ruth Ford Hawkins.
He was retired from the Metro Nashville Fire Department with 35 years of service. He renovated and built houses and storage sheds. He enjoyed working on his old Ford truck, supporting Vanderbilt athletics and attending sporting events for his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles T. Hawkins; sister, Carolyn Propes.
He is survived by his son Bryan (Wendy) Hawkins, Hendersonville, TN; daughter, Ashley (Rusty) Dugan, White House, TN; sisters, Nancy WIlliams, Huntsville, AL, Betty (Jim) Lee, Nappa VIne, WA and Mai Thacker, Hermitage, TN; 6 grandchildren, Brayden, Hunter, Bailey, Mallorie, Meredith and Madeline.
A graveside service and committal are scheduled for Friday, May 12, 2023 at 2 pm in Hillcrest Cemetery with a chaplain from the Nashville Fire Department officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery Columbarium There is no visitation planned.
