Robert A. Goble

Nashville – Robert A. Goble (Bob) passed away peacefully on December 20, with his family by his side, after a short battle with lung cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father Everett, mother Clara, and sister Betty. He is survived by his children Katherine (Kyle) Gustafson, Jackson Goble, and Grayson (Tracy) Goble, grandson Keith Robert Gustafson, sister Jeanette (Jan) Goble Jeffries, and Kristin Cookson Goble. He loved and appreciated his children enormously and adored being Grandbob to Keith.

He attended Clarksville High School, Austin Peay University, and Nashville Tech. Bob was funny, sarcastic, kind, and everyone’s favorite curmudgeon. He loved music-playing, writing, and singing-and particularly enjoyed piano and guitar. He could run a pool table like nobody’s business. He was a skilled woodworker, creating beautiful pieces of all types. He was an avid fan of all Vanderbilt sports, especially basketball.

We will all miss him so much. But his Bob-isms will live through the ages. We can hear him now, saying, “Bye for now, buddies and buddettes.”
