Phillip Lewis Clinard, age 76 of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Skyline Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Matthew Honeycutt and Scott Owen officiating.
Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery with Brandon Miller, Scott Owen, Kevin Houston, Jacob Clinard, Chris Smith, and Brad Keith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gavin Clinard, Phillip Smith, Brice Miller, Titus Owen, Yuri Burk, Logan Miller, Braylen Drury, Roman Smith, and Beckett Houston.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the time of service.
Mr. Clinard was born February 8, 1949 in Springfield to the late William Wallace and Bonnie Pauline Bush Clinard. He was of the Baptist faith, a veteran of the United States Army, and a retired truck driver with J-Hawk.
He loved his family and especially the Sunday afternoon family dinners. He was known as the family GPS and sent texts to them every morning. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing, and watching his grandson Brandon at the race track. He was also an avid Texas Longhorns fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jase and Luke Miller, and two brothers, Wallace and Johnny Clinard.
Surviving him are his wife of almost 55 years, Rose Clinard of Cross Plains; son, Phillip Matthew (Terri Lee) Clinard of Springfield; daughters, Stacy (John) Brooks of Springfield and Stephanie Houston of Cross Plains; brothers, Paul (Rita) Clinard and Buddy Clinard all of Cross Plains; sister, Bonnie Smith of Cross Plains; grandchildren, Brandon (Kyra) Miller, Katyln (Scott) Owen, Valinda (Zach) Burk, Kevin Houston, Jacob (Krissy) Clinard, Gavin Clinard, and Rylie Clinard; and 15 grandchildren.
Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
