Norman Robert Hammett, age 83 of White House went home to be with the Lord January 29, 2025 at Hendersonville Medical Center.
He was born July 20, 1941 In Spartanburg, SC to Robert Benson Hammett and Ruby Campbell.
He worked in telephone installation communications. He proudly served his country in the USAF as a firefighter… He enjoyed playing country music and traveled with a band following his retirement. He loved going to Authentic Coffee for their bluegrass Friday nights. Mr. Hammett was also a motorcycle enthusiast, having attended the Sturgis, SD gathering of hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts. He loved RV travel and was a member of White House First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Benson Hammett and Ruby Campbell Forsyth.; 1 brother.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Tharp; sons, Robert “Robbie” (Tracey) Bratcher, Greer, SC and Joey (Angela) Dunning, Kansas City, MO; brother, Keith Hammett; 2 sisters, Janice Baynard and Freda Aires, all of NC; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
