Martha Montgomery Farmer (Mattox) Obit

Martha Montgomery Farmer, age 85 of Springfield, passed from this life on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at The Arbors at Springfield Heights. Her wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be conducted Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of service. Her cremains will be buried at a later date in Maple Hill Cemetery in Portland.

Mrs. Martha was born November 21, 1939 in Nashville to the late Gaither and Daisy Louise Shepherd Mattox. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield and was a retired branch manager for First American Bank. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and loved to travel when she was able and had an outgoing personality, never meeting a stranger. She also enjoyed cooking and was very welcoming to others. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Haskell Montgomery, and a daughter-in-law, Carol Montgomery.

Surviving her are her husband, Jerry Farmer of Springfield; children, Terry Montgomery (Terry Mason) of Lebanon, Berenda Montgomery Buzzell of Springfield, Melinda Montgomery Kelley of Shelbyville, and Michael Montgomery of Goodlettsville; grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Searcy, Tara Mehrtens, Chris (Shea) Glover, Justin (Kim) Boguskie, Brandon Ross, Nick Buzzell, Daniel Buzzell, and Christopher Montgomery; great grandchildren, Kayla Searcy, Carson Searcy, Gage Boguskie, Jaden Boguskie, Kailey Glover, Kaiden Glover, Kinley Glover, Landon Mehrtens, Cameron Mehrtens, Christian Mehrtens, Brailynn Ross, Rian Ross, and Reagan Ross; brother Gerald (Paticia) Mattox of Madison; and niece, Michelle Mattox.

Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
