Lee Allan Simpson, age 86 of Springfield, passed from his life on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Morningside of Springfield. His wishes were to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Simpson was born November 27, 1939 in Harmony, WI to the late Edwin and Francess Salek Simpson. He was retired from AT&T as an engineer and was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the National Guard. He enjoyed reading and learning and was passionate about his health. He also enjoyed eating out and going on cruises, especially for the buffets. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Sprouse; brothers, Edwin “Pat” and Kenneth Simpson; and a sister, Annette Nowicki.
Surviving him are his wife, Brenda Goldate Simpson of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Stephanie Simpson of Greenbrier; daughters, Laurie Simpson of New Orleans, LA and Wendy Simpson of Gretna, LA; sister, Sharon Simpson of Oak Forest, IL; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
