Rader Larry Henry, 82, of Cross Plains, passed away on Saturday July 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family that he loved so much.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday July 29th at 4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Owen and Pastor Russ Noss officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with his grandsons, Ivan Gregory, Brett Rippy, Curtis Mott, Jake Jernigan, Seth Stroud, and Blake Rader Henry, serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be his sons-in-law: Bruce Rippy, Curt Mott, Jim Anderson, and his daughter-in-law: Lacy Henry, his granddaughters: Brooke Gregory, Farran Mott, Caitlyn Jernigan, Julia Stroud, Brayden Suiter, and Tatum Henry, his great grandchildren: Henry Gregory, Sutton Gregory, Emma Mott, Cooper Mott, Livie Mott, Ace Jernigan, Caroline Jernigan, and Mac Rader Jernigan, and his dear friends: Danny Darden, Phil W. Henry, Will Ed Osborne, John C. Moulton, and Tony “Gus” Baker.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 29th from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Larry was born July 23, 1943, in Springfield, to the late Lon F. and Martha Ellen Pitt Henry. He was a graduate of Springfield High School. Larry started milking cows at age 11, and was a lifelong farmer until his retirement in 2023, having farmed wheat, corn, soybeans, and tobacco.
On September 1, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart, Janyth Moulton, and this year they would celebrate 63 years of marriage to one another. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where he was Deacon Emeritus. Larry was a member of the Robertson County Co-Op Board and served seven years on the Tennessee State Farmers Co-Op Board, with his last year of service as President of that board.
He was an avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, the Tennessee Titans, and the WWE. Larry was the happiest when he was spending time with his family, and he loved watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren swim and play sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Ted Malcom Henry, and by his son-in-law: Charles Stroud.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Janyth Moulton Henry of Cross Plains, his children: Beth (Bruce) Rippy of Cross Plains, Jane (Curt) Mott of Orlinda, Julie (Jim) Anderson of Portland, and Larry Joe (Lacy) Henry of Pleasant View, his grandchildren: Brooke (Ivan) Gregory, Curtis (Farran) Mott, Caitlyn (Jake) Jernigan, Seth (Julia) Stroud, Brett Rippy, Brayden Suiter, Tatum Henry, Blake Rader Henry, and Julia (Drew) Brooksher, and his great grandchildren: Henry and Sutton Gregory, Emma, Cooper, and Livie Mott, Ace, Caroline, and Mac Rader Jernigan.
Larry’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to his caregiver and now a part of the Henry family; Rocquesha “Sissy” Chatman. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church building fund. All donations may be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
