John Joseph Harris, “The Gold Fiddle Kid”, age 78, of Ridgetop, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Eaton Creek Acute Care in Nashville. Military graveside services will be conducted Friday, December 12th, at 1pm in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Harris was born June 2, 1947, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Eugene Warren Harris, and the late Iris Waneita Harris. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. During his military service, Mr. Harris received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Presidential Unit Citation, the Valorous Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation, the Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars, and a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Ghaben, of Hillsdale, IL; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and very special friends, Sherry and Carlos Estrada.
