George Clarke Curevich Obit

George Clarke Curevich of Chapmansboro, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2025 at the age of 80.

Visitation will be at Trinity Baptist Church in Clarksville on Saturday, February 8th from 11 – 1:00 pm. Service will be at 1:00 pm.

He was born on April 26, 1944, and lived most of his adult life in LaVergne, TN. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Tammy Annette Zelenka and grandson, Stephen Andrew Reed. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Obera Curevich, daughter, Georgia Evans (Scott), daughter Rebecca Reed, son George Paul Curevich, and son Kevin Curevich. He leaves behind 2 sisters, 1 brother, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many cousins.

As a young man, he served in the Navy, returned home and went on to open a Gun and Sporting Goods Store in LaVergne. He spent most of his life doing what he loved; hunting and camping whenever he could. If he spent any time around you, he was known for giving you things. He wanted people to know they were loved and mattered to him. He loved being around people. He loved talking to people, visiting, and eating out. He enjoyed his church family at Miracle Baptist in LaVergne and Trinity Baptist in Clarksville. He formed many friendships in which he valued and cherished. He loved his wife and children more than anything, and always made sure his children had a place to call home. He came to know Jesus and spent his time fervently talking to any and everyone he could about knowing the Lord, including his doctors and nurses. He wanted everyone to be saved. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all of his family.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. – Romans 1:16
