Gene Allen Shrum, 76, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the home of his niece in Lebanon.
Mr. Shrum was born May 10, 1946, in Hartsville to the late Robert Lee and Mary Elizabeth Stafford Shrum.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retired mill operator from Unarco in Springfield. Mr. Shrum enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a great outdoorsman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Patsy Ann Shrum, and by his siblings: Virginia Newsome, Robert Shrum, Jewel Brown, Billy Shrum, Reese Shrum, Louise Scantland, Walter Shrum, and Rhea Shrum.
Mr. Shrum is survived by his sister: Margaret Ann Shrum Scantland and husband Arnold of Florida.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, January 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the Bethlehem Cemetery with Dale Swearingen officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
