David Samuel Head, age 77, of Cross Plains, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Hendersonville Medical Center. Services for Mr. Head are pending at this time and will be announced later.
Mr. Head was born August 30, 1947, in Springfield, to the late Hiram Samuel Head, Jr. and the late Mildred Carr Head. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during Vietnam on the USS Coral Sea as a Navy Diver and did underwater welding.
Mr. Head received his Masters in Education from Austin Peay State University and was an Art teacher most of his life. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather and loved music.
Mr. Head was a member and Deacon at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cross Plains and a member of the VFW. In addition to his parents, Mr. Head was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Head; and a sister, Betty Carver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sandra Foote Head; sons, Steven (Marla) Head and Christopher Daniel (Daniele Drexler) Head; 2 grandchildren, Liam Head and Ethan Head; and sisters, Linda Baddley and Dianne Brickles.
