OBITUARY: David Michael Hunter

David “Dave” Michael Hunter, age 75, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Dave was born on June 18, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late James Walton Hunter and Iva Mae Felts. Dave was preceded by his brother, Mark Hunter.

Dave is survived by his loving wife Taem Hunter; son, Josef Masson Hunter (Whitney); daughter, Saundra Hein (Marcel) and Taya Bailey-Hunter (Candice); brother, Larry Hunter; sister, Carol Long; nieces and nephews, Chris, Jeanette, Brandon, Blake; grandchildren, Julie, Jason, Cohen, Megan, Zadie, and Sloane.

Dave served his country honorably in the United States Air Force prior to continuing to serve his community as a civilian contractor for the Air Force as a Field Test/ Flight Engineer. His biggest passion was “U2 Dragon Lady”. Dave’s love for family was legendary, his wife, children, and grandchildren were his best accomplishments. Dave was talented in art, playing the piano, and the guitar by ear. Dave loved basketball, diving, and being the best Dad and Papa.

A celebration of life will be held in Dave’s honor at a later date.
