James Cody Fletcher, age 30, of Springfield, Tennessee, died Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 o’clock noon, Thursday, May 1st, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Pastor Ronnie Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery with Bud Bollinger, Grant Burleson, Matt Franey, Toby Forrester, Hunter Chapman, Cody Friday, Carl Anderson, and Colton Lassiter serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 30th from 4:00-8:00PM, and again on Thursday beginning at 10:00AM until the hour of service at noon.
Cody was born on June 15, 1994, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, to Jim Fletcher and Lesa Miller Newman. He was a lineman at NES (Nashville Electric Service) and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jean & Jerry Miller and Jimmy Fletcher. He is survived by his father, Jim (Chandra) Fletcher, mother, Lesa (Stacy) Newman, partner, Jordan Justice, son, Weston Fletcher, sister, Makayla (Cody) Talbott, grandmother, Joyce Fletcher, aunt, Jennifer Raines, “uncle” Mark Head, aunt & uncle, John & Stephanie Brown, uncle, Jonathan Newman, great-aunt, Linda Warren, step-grandparents, Mike & Bridges Albright, David & Jackie Poole, and Jerry & Sondra Newman, step-sister, Chloe Loftis (fiancé, Austin McWhirter), step-brothers Chris (Aubrey) Newman, Trace (Morgan) Crockett, and Trent Crockett (Kyleigh Ballard), and numerous nephews & cousins.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cody’s son, Weston, for future expenses. Please make checks payable to Weston’s mother, Jordan Justice, and send in care of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View.
