MTSU Athletics and Nashville-based NVRDUL Events announced Tuesday the launch of Live in the Boro, a public-private partnership that will bring concerts and special events to MTSU throughout the academic year.

The series will debut during MTSU’s Homecoming week with a concert at Murphy Center on Thursday, Nov. 5. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m.

The inaugural lineup will feature country artist Bailey Zimmerman, hip-hop artist Waka Flocka Flame, rising country act Miller Holler and DJ/producer Dee Jay Silver.

MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee said the new series is part of the university’s broader effort to make Murphy Center and Floyd Stadium destinations for entertainment in addition to athletics.

“We are pleased to take this next step in our goal of making Murphy Center and Floyd Stadium entertainment destinations that will benefit not only MTSU, but Murfreesboro and Rutherford County,” McPhee said.

The university also plans major renovations to Murphy Center and Floyd Stadium, supported by state and private funding. Murphy Center renovations are scheduled to begin in 2027 and are expected to further position the 53-year-old arena as a concert venue.

Murphy Center has hosted concerts, sporting events and other major events throughout its history. With Live in the Boro, MTSU and NVRDUL Events hope to build on that history and establish the venue as a regular stop for major live entertainment.

Carri Hyde, founder and CEO of NVRDUL Events, said the partnership is intended to create experiences that connect artists, communities and institutions.

“When MTSU approached us about creating something unique that could both entertain and support Blue Raider Athletics, we knew it was a special opportunity,” Hyde said.

Additional Live in the Boro concerts and events are expected to be announced in the future.

For the inaugural show, presale tickets will be available beginning at noon Wednesday, Sept. 9, to current 2026-27 Blue Raider Athletic Association members and qualifying season ticket holders. Current MTSU students can purchase tickets beginning at noon Thursday, Sept. 10. Tickets will then become available to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11.
