The Greenbrier Police Department identified the vehicle at about 1:46 p.m. Sept. 24. The driver, Albert Humphries, 41, was wanted on several felony charges and was believed to be armed.

The warrants included possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and felony violation of probation stemming from a child abuse case.

After the vehicle was stopped, officers attempted to speak with Humphries. He said he was experiencing an episode but refused multiple commands to exit the vehicle.

Because of the outstanding warrants, Humphries’ previous involvement in a shooting incident and information that he may have been armed, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team and Negotiations Team responded to assist Greenbrier police. Officers and deputies maintained communication with Humphries throughout the incident and worked toward a peaceful resolution.

At approximately 3:53 p.m., Humphries was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Robertson County Detention Facility.
