The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on multiple weapon charges after a search of his home last month, WSMV reports.
Deputies performed a search warrant at the home of 67-year-old Joseph Frank Benton on Owens Chapel Road in late March. During the search, homes nearby were evacuated due to the threat of things found on the property that could possibly ignite, according to Cross Plains Fire Department.
Benton was charged with violation of probation and 40 weapon charges.
According to WSMV, the family of a missing woman and child believed the search of Benton’s home was connected to the missing persons case but it was later confirmed that it was unrelated. Benton was the boyfriend of the missing woman when she disappeared.
