July 24, 2024 – On Wednesday morning, there was a shooting in front of Planet Fitness in Portland.
The victim of the shooting was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for his wounds.
The suspect, who fled the scene, was identified and appeared to have taken his own life at a location in Kentucky.
No one else was injured.
Portland Police was assisted by the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, the Sumner County Emergency Management Agency, the Hendersonville Police Department, the 18th JDDTF, Sumner County EMS, the Portland Fire Department, the Kentucky State Police, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.
